RETAIL MANAGEMENT

RETAIL MANAGEMENT

Retail is the sale of goods and services from individuals or businesses to the end‐user. Retailers are a part of an integrated system called the supply chain. A retailer purchases goods or products in large quantities from manufacturers directly or through a wholesale, and then sells smaller quantities to the consumer for a profit. Customers aren't necessarily merchants' wealthiest shoppers, but rather their most valued ones: Those who, for the sake of convenience or product choice, often pay full price rather than wait for a sale. They make up just 30 per cent of consumers, but generate about 50 per cent of retail sales and 70 per cent of gross profit margins.
